Article Marketing Is A Critical Part Of Any Successful Marketing Campaign

Many times when I am communicating with other marketers and I bring up the subject of article writing, I often get a response like "I'd rather have a root canal, I just can not write", or "my spelling is terrible and my grammar is not much better". In my opinion, the first excuse is just a matter of confidence. The latter excuse falls on deaf ears because most major word processing programs have great spelling and grammar checking abilities..

We're not talking about something that could qualify for the Pulitzer Prize in literature, just articles dealing with a niche that could be of interest to a group of marketers that also may happen to have mutual interest in your particular business proposition or activity.

Although not as dramatic as the college professor's dilemma of "publish or die", many online writers have found that the notoriety and traffic that articles can bring to their website is second only in importance to actually creating sales.

When writing articles, start by clearly defining what you want to write about. Focus on the topic and the overall message that you wish to communicate. Sometimes you will start with a title then expand from there, then other times the title may be the last thing you write.

Organize your material (be it knowledge, thoughts, or opinions) into a probable sequence or order. Don't try for the completed article in the first draft. Just allow your mind, and words, to breath and get some ink down on paper. This may occur in a single session, for lengthier articles, it could be done in various rough draft sessions perhaps broken into logical sections of what will eventually become your finished article.

Once you've finished the rough draft, it's time to make your changes, smooth the rough edges, and perhaps do some tweaks in terms of organization. Run your writing through the spelling/grammar checking tool of your word processor and make the pertinent corrections.

Now that the body of text that you have created is "technically clean" from a spelling/grammar stance and you have gratified yourself with the organization, its time to perform the final styling or polishing to guarantee readability (that may or may not be a word, but I'll claim poetic license and go ahead and use it). Read your article audibly to yourself and get a feel for the emphasis or rhythm. The readability of the complete article can be altered by changing the sequence of words and/or swapping one like-meaning word for another. The ultimate goal is to grab readership.

Many professionals use their articles as a integral component in launching successful internet marketing careers, earning very substantial incomes. Remember, in regard to writing articles, you're greater than you believe you are...it's all about attitude!
